A selection of Wildlife Images from the Exmoor Red Deer Rut 2018

This is a Small collection of images from my recent trip to Exmoor for the Rut..
Although they are rather limited this year due to time with the family and the lack of Red Deer from legal and illegal shooting, it was still very enjoyable.
These Red Deer are not habituated mammals, they are truly wild and take a great deal of time and patience to get close too, but the thrill of stalking and being accepted is more of a reward than a picture

Glossy Ibis ( Plegadis falcinellus )

Glossy Ibis

This think this is a Juvenile Glossy Ibis, and was taken on Goonhilly Downs. It stayed for over a week and gave people quite the show. An extremely tame bird. The Glossy Ibis is the most widespread species of Ibis worldwide , found in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. A nomadic species, it appears as a vagrant in many places outside its regular breeding areas.

Family Trip to Scotland...

A recent family trip to Scotland, some wonderful Wildlife although some are common they are still pretty special. The Red Squirrel was seen on 5 occasions but not photographed unfortunately. The ever declining Tree Sparrow and Yellowhammer were a welcome sight as we don't see them in Cornwall much these days.
